London-based, Berlin-born Kamran Khan makes lo-fi, bright indie songs that will mellow you out, under the name Fake Laugh. The first release since his debut album in 2018 about love, confusion and self-questioning is new strung out single 'Novelty Song'. It opens with a slow analogue drum machine, followed by a walking bass line and plucked, phaser-drenched guitars which ooze like molten rock. The vocal delivery from Khan is soft and breathy as he sings the charming lyrics: "Feeling relaxed and leaning, Gave up the search for meaning, Wrote up a song, a dumb one, Novelty song for someone".
